Matt Briggs is an Australian commercial photographer who specialises in photographing people and product across the genres of beauty, fashion, portraiture and lifestyle.

Matt’s interest in photography developed as a teenager growing up on Australia’s east-coast. As a keen surfer, he observed light from sunrise to sunset, fascinated with its changing colour and contrast throughout a day and between seasons. Matt began photographing the people and places he was observing, printing and submitting to magazines that defined surfing, skating and music culture. Matt’s observational style developed as he became skilled at pre-empting scenarios, framing subjects and their environment in ways that told a more complete visual story.

Matt’s love for the printed image turned to the glossy pages of beauty and fashion magazines. His photography evolved into the studio as he connected with like-minded stylists, models, hair and makeup artists to create visual stories for magazines and personal projects. Matt’s editorial and portrait imagery has developed into a fusion of his clean studio sensibility with an elegant rebellious twist.
